Privacy Policy for Our Web Offering

In accordance with our objectives, we enable businesses and individuals to host their web applications securely and with high availability. Therefore, Hostsharing has always placed particular emphasis on high data protection standards that consistently meet current technical requirements.

Against this background, we provide comprehensive information here about the collection and use of personal data (data) when visiting our website and external online presences (collectively referred to as online offering).

The responsible entity within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 of the General Data Protection Regulation is WolkenWerk GmbH, as stated in the imprint.

General Information

With our online offering, we provide information about the services offered by WolkenWerk and make available a contact form as well as other interaction options.

WolkenWerk operates the online offerings in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Telecommunications-Digital Services-Data Protection Act (TDDDG), and all other data protection-relevant regulations.

The definitions of the data protection terminology used, such as “processing,” “personal data,” or “data subjects,” can be found in Art. 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Collection and Required Processing of Data

With each access to our internet offering by a person or an automated system, protocol files, so-called logfiles, are stored for a limited time – as is common on the internet. These general data and information are automatically transmitted by your internet browser.

The access data may also be contained in data backups for longer periods of time and thus be reconstructable. The relevant dataset includes in particular:

The processing of logfiles is primarily for the purpose of correct delivery of our internet presence, its optimization, system security, and technical administration and function control.

When using these general data and information, WolkenWerk does not draw any conclusions about the data subject. We store this data for statistical, security, and function control purposes in order to continuously improve our service offering and to find and fix errors more quickly. We do not pass this data on to third parties.

Logfiles are stored by WolkenWerk for security reasons (e.g., to investigate misuse or fraudulent activities) until they are no longer needed for the above-mentioned purposes and are then deleted. Data whose further retention is necessary for evidence purposes are exempt from deletion until the final clarification of the respective incident.

These measures serve to ensure an optimal level of protection for the data we process. The server logfiles are stored separately from all data provided by a data subject themselves.

Nevertheless, we reserve the right to evaluate personal data for defense and tracing purposes in the event of attacks on our internet infrastructure.

As a matter of principle, this data is not passed on to third parties. Deletion takes place in accordance with our deletion concept as soon as we no longer have a legal obligation or legitimate interest in processing.

The legal basis for transmission is Art. 6 (1) lit. b or f GDPR.

Your message will be forwarded internally to the responsible contact person to handle your request. No disclosure to third parties occurs without your authorization.

Privacy Policy for Processing Within Our Website

Your data is processed exclusively to achieve the stated goals and purposes and only to the extent necessary for this. Disclosure to third parties – if it occurs at all – only takes place within the framework of legal requirements (e.g., tax regulations) or contractual agreements (e.g., processing of an order).

Transfers of data to state institutions and authorities only occur within the framework of mandatory national law or in the case of misuse or fraudulent activities to the extent necessary for legal or criminal prosecution. Disclosure for other purposes (e.g., address trading) is excluded.

Personal data is only stored for the period necessary to fulfill the respective purpose (e.g., use of a specific service). If legal provisions stipulate otherwise (e.g., retention periods), the storage period is governed accordingly. If the respective purpose no longer applies or a legally prescribed storage period expires, the personal data is routinely deleted in accordance with legal provisions, provided it is no longer necessary for contract fulfillment or contract initiation.
